So I helped a friend of mine write a book. Her name is Lou Solomon and she’s pretty special. She teaches Public Speaking and Presenting and she does it in a very unique, humanistic way. She believes that we are never so powerful as when we speak from our own authority — when we are honest and share the truth of our experience in a positive way. Her coaching is nothing less than transformational. I’ve seen amazing things happen with her students. She’s got the magic. She’s the real deal.
When she asked me to help her write her book, I jumped at the chance. And I wound up coaching the coach. I helped her outline her material, edited and rewrote chapters and generally stayed in the trenches with her. She was a little shy and timid about writing at first. But soon came out of her shell. Now you can’t keep the woman away from the keyboard. She’s even writing a weekly column for the Charlotte Business Journal.
I didn’t really expect her to put my name on the cover, but she felt like it was appropriate. So here we are, the first published work with my name on it.
I’ve encouraged her to make the full text of the book available in pdf. I will make it available as soon as she does. I’m also advising her on her website http://www.interactskills.com She’s got great, real human content, and her website can do a much better job of reflecting that. It’s time for an update. But, for my new media friends, don’t let the website wrapper fool you, the content that Lou has is GOLD.
